Connectable 2.0
This is my last substack post.
*(dramatic pause)*
But no need to worry, things are about to get even better, even more valuable, and a little more intimate.
First of, this has nothing to do with Substack, I simply find it easier and more valuable to work from just one communications platform (my email provider).
Besides, I always write my best work in a blank email template, it’s my happy place.
Not much will change for you, apart from the formatting and getting a little more access to me!
I want to create a really intimate and unique space for us to connect, learn and grow together.
So, next week you’ll be sent a little introduction from our new home and given a chance to look forward to the exciting content you’ll be receiving.
If this wasn't what you signed up for and you're some kind of Substack superfan, (no judgment here) then there’ll be a nice big unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email.
But a small warning: you’ll be missing out on some of this:
Why your marketing must change
Today, a great deal of marketing is still 1980s, 1990s-level pushy. It’s all:
Sell, sell, sell, buy, buy, buy, RIGHT NOW!
We have the BEST THINGS EVER, click not before it’s gone!
It’s energy-draining, in-your-face persuasion marketing that doesn’t leave you with an escape route. And sure this marketing used to work, in fact, it still does, we’ve perfected the art of tapping into our insecurities, fears and deepest desires.
Times, however, are changing. And you better change with them. We’re a clever species and are waking up to the bullsh*t. Loud click-bait, launches based on endless hype, and products that don’t do what they said they would on the tin, do not lead businesses into the land of glory and success.
There is so much choice online today that it’s getting easier and easier to dismiss marketing that simply smells foul from the get-go and is all promises and no substance.
It’s time to master the art of marketing with your audience, rather than at them, to pull them in rather than push them in.
If you’re willing to run in the opposite direction of ‘gurus’ and ‘tried and tested’ marketing strategies, if you feel icky every time you have to think of a way to trick and lure your audience to pay attention, then I challenge you to change your ways, to be radically different and engage in a form of marketing that is so superb it draws the people you seek to serve in without the need for persuasion traps and cajolery.
I want you to create meaningful impact in the world (even if it’s teeny) and have the gumption to stop copying others and instead stand out in an overcrowded, noisy world.
It won’t be easy, but my oh my will it be rewarding.
I’m so excited to get to work!
If you’re reading this and aren’t signed up for any of my stuff yet—do it now!
All the very best,
Lisanne
Peace out Substack
